Profhilo has earned its reputation as one of the most talked-about skin treatments in London — and the before and after results speak for themselves. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo does not add volume or sculpt features. Instead, it works from within the skin to dramatically improve hydration, firmness, and overall skin quality through a process called bio-remodelling.
At The London Aesthetic Clinic, Profhilo is one of our most requested treatments. Patients consistently describe the results as looking like their skin has been "reset" — glowing, plump, and visibly more youthful, without looking like they have had anything done.
What Does Profhilo Actually Do to the Skin?
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid of any injectable product on the market — 64mg per 2ml. Unlike conventional fillers, it is not cross-linked with chemicals, which means it spreads through the skin tissue rather than staying in one place. This unique property allows it to hydrate and remodel the skin from the inside out, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
The result is a comprehensive improvement in skin quality — not just hydration, but genuine structural improvement that makes the skin look and feel firmer, smoother, and more luminous.
Profhilo Before and After: What Changes Can You Expect?
| Skin Concern | Before Profhilo | After Profhilo |
|---|---|---|
| Skin hydration | Dull, dehydrated skin lacking radiance | Deep, lasting hydration and luminous glow |
| Skin laxity | Skin feels loose, lacks firmness and elasticity | Noticeably firmer, more toned skin texture |
| Fine lines | Fine lines and crepey texture visible | Smoother skin surface, reduced fine lines |
| Overall radiance | Tired, lacklustre complexion | Refreshed, glowing, healthy-looking skin |
| Neck and décolletage | Crepey, loose skin on neck | Improved firmness and texture |
The Profhilo Timeline
The standard Profhilo protocol involves two treatment sessions, spaced four weeks apart. Here is what to expect at each stage:
- Session 1: Profhilo is injected into five specific points on each side of the face (the BAP — Bio Aesthetic Points protocol). Small bumps appear at the injection sites and resolve within a few hours.
- Week 1–4: The hyaluronic acid begins to spread through the tissue, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Skin may feel more hydrated within the first week.
- Session 2 (Week 4): The second treatment amplifies the bio-remodelling process and consolidates the results.
- Week 4–8: Results become increasingly visible. Skin appears firmer, more luminous, and noticeably more hydrated.
- Month 2–3: Full results are visible. The skin looks and feels transformed — firmer, smoother, and deeply hydrated.
- Month 6–9: Results gradually diminish as the hyaluronic acid is metabolised. A maintenance session is recommended every 6 months.
Who Gets the Best Profhilo Results?
Profhilo delivers excellent results for a wide range of patients, but the most dramatic transformations are typically seen in patients who are experiencing early to moderate skin laxity and loss of radiance — typically from their mid-30s onwards. It is also highly effective for the neck and décolletage, areas that are often neglected but show significant signs of ageing.
For patients with more significant volume loss or deeper structural changes, Profhilo works beautifully as part of a combination approach alongside dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections.
How many Profhilo sessions do I need to see results?
The standard protocol is two sessions spaced four weeks apart. Most patients begin to notice improvements after the first session, with full results visible 4–6 weeks after the second session.
Is Profhilo better than fillers?
Profhilo and dermal fillers serve different purposes. Profhilo improves overall skin quality, hydration, and firmness. Dermal fillers restore volume and define contours. For comprehensive rejuvenation, many patients benefit from both treatments.
How long do Profhilo results last?
Profhilo results typically last 6–9 months. A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended to sustain the results.
Does Profhilo hurt?
Most patients find Profhilo very tolerable. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment, and the injections are quick. Some patients experience mild tenderness at the injection sites for 24–48 hours.
